Another Tampa Area Teacher Arrested.
Ok, what is up with these teachers in this area? Check out http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=78328 How many, both male and female have been caught at this? The bigger question is why is the typical sentencing for a female so much lighter than for a male. I have been told that it's because when a male has sex, he penetrates. A female doesn't. What about the child who thinks that he has awesome bragging rights as a kid? In reality, what he may think is cool now is really a crime committed against him. I know that kids today are likely to be sexually active at an early age but if they are active with other kids, then so be it. But these kids are being preyed upon by those that are supposed to TRY to instill values. This is the same thing as a stranger raping them in my opinion. We all made mistakes when we were kids and as we age we wish we could go back and fix them sometimes. These are kids!! They are all equal victims!! The punishment for the convicted should be harsh and equal.
Does WV matter?
The answer is no. Hilary is not going to make it and the stage is set for a very interesting election. One one hand you have a black, inexperienced liberal...very liberal, against an old not so conservative war hero. Will this country actually put a black man in the white house? Will McCain be able to keep up a very rigorous campaign schedule that he must, even just to show his youth and vitality, without a major gaffe or losing his temper. Will Obama run from the inevitable LIBERAL branding that is sure to come from the republicans, or we he embrace at and bring up FDR and others to invoke what a lot of Americans feel was a great liberal leader? This is definitely the most exciting election in a long time
McCain has lost his bearings
This came from the Obama camp. At the root of the dispute is McCain's decision to call attention to a Hamas adviser's apparent affinity for Obama. The adviser, Ahmed Yousef, said in a recent interview: "We like Obama and hope that he will win the election." Of course they do. Obama has promised to sit down with Iran, Hamas and every other anti-we like to kill American faction out there. You may not like what I have to say, but I'm saying it anyway. Here is my take on war. We sold out our kids in Vietnam, Korea, and Iraq. If it is worth going to war for, it should be worth wiping them out! We will gain nothing from Iraq and Iran will win big. I say let them. Get out because we have just become targets. We are spread thin and in another asinine police action. Move towards energy independence and stop killing on one hand and kissing ass on the other in the middle east. Get our defensive capability in shape and let any rogue nation or group know that if we are screwed with again, they will be "wiped off the map" to quote one nutcase. Of course now if we pull out of Iraq, the Bin Laden bozo's are just going to move to Afghanistan and take us on there. Thanks GW, this isn't going to end and you are to blame. We will have to leave Iraq and Afghanistan with our tails between our legs just like Vietnam. More on this to come...
This whole election thing makes no sense anyway
Why do we not have a national primary election day like we do the general election? This whole thing with elections on different days, caucuses and straw polling is a waste. Let's pick a day, give them each some cash to spend...in equal amounts and have them go to it. Then on one given day, we all vote and decide the candidate from each party to run against each other in the fall. This way, we eliminate the donations and the CORRUPTION that we all know comes with it. The way it is now, these candidates get millions from donors (Now I want a favor in return), tell each state what they want to hear and move on to the next and change the message. One the democrat side, I don't even know the difference between the two candidates on a lot of issues. Plus you throw in the likes of Rush Limbaugh and you get a lot of republicans changing parties to try to prolong the democrats race. This wouldn't happen if we all voted on the same day.
Hillary needs to step aside
It's over and to me Hillary is starting to look like a selfish idiot in my opinion. She is out of money, way behind in the popular and delegate vote and unless something drastic comes out on Obama, she is done. I mean, the guy weathered the Reverend Not So Wright. What could be worse, short of pictures of him hanging out with Bin Laden in huts in Afghanistan, he is pretty much a lock. I still say that McCain will beat him in the general election as Obama will be seen for how liberal he is and visions of a black Mike Dukakis will be pulled from the ashes. I could never figure out why the democrats let themselves run away from that label instead of embracing it. Maybe liberal is the way to go. I'd even consider it if Alan Colmes wasn't such a geek...in my opinion of course. Till next time!
Gas at $7.00 gallon? Bet on it!
There are new predictions out that gas will hit $200.00 per barrel and retail will go to $7.00 in the US. in the next two years. We now more than ever need a strong leader in the White House as well as in the House and Senate. We can no longer drill for oil in the US due to the environmentalists. Our energy requirements are weakening with the economy but China and India are growing like crazy and sucking more and more gas. Our wasteful nation is going to face a new reality. We need to take a multi pronged approach to this crisis to end our foreign dependence and their accompanying influence forever. We need to find new sources here in the US. We need to lower the speed limit to save gas. We need to promote alternative fuels, build new nuclear plants and start using wind and solar in a big way. I once read about a city that generates its electric by using human waste... of course, it's not here in the US. With all of the free trade agreements, we are rapidly becoming a third class nation. More Budget Cuts?
You know that things are bad when lawmakers take a pay cut like they have done in Florida. Estimates range from an additional 1-5 billion in cuts for next year at the state level. This doesn't bode well. Colleges are cutting back on classes claiming the funds from the state have been cut. Positions are being eliminated. Trooper positions are being cut, jail guard positions are cut and more. Some states are doing early releases of inmates to save money. People in jail with HIV are getting released due to the expense of their medications. I dealt with a guy years ago who did six armed robberies. He would hold up a convenience store and wait for cops to arrive with his gun on the ground and his hands in the air. Why> He had HIV and couldn't afford meds so he kept getting arrested, held for a month or two and then released because the county and state didn't want to foot the bill, He would then go out and do it again. Health care is out of control, the costs of prisons is out of control. The price of gas is out of control. We need politicians to get a grip...and I mean NOW!
Obama, not a new direction. Same old political crap
"When the first snippets came out, I thought it was important to give him the benefit of the doubt," Obama said of Wright, "because if I had wanted to be politically expedient, I would have distanced myself and denounced him right away, right? That would have been the easy thing to do." That's is what the POSSIBLE FUTURE PRESIDENT HAD TO SAY!! Let's look at what those snippets were. Wright PREACHED FROM THE PULPIT that the US government "lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color" and that the United States deserved to be attacked on Sept. 11 because "we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye." It goes on and on and this isn't going away. The only hope IN MY OPINION for the democrats now is to nominate Hillary. They won't and I expect McCain to win by 8-10% This is my prediction. This whole controversy is huge and won't go away. I honestly wasn't sure who I was going to vote for. I am all for liberal things like national health care since we pay for it now anyway, we just don't get it. I also have numerous conservative leanings so all in all I guess I am a moderate. I don't trust big business and would rather have big government programs. At least with them bozo's we have a LITTLE say. Look at Enron, the big oil companies, and the list goes on and on. They were and are all looking out for the consumer...right. SURE!!!!
Obama and the Rev.
I'm sorry, but Obama taking until now to denounce the Reverend Wright has cost him any shot at ever getting my vote. In my opinion, Wright is a nut case and one of the reasons that this country struggles so badly to come together and move on when it comes to the race issue. When we ALL stop looking at black and white America and ALL look at OUR AMERICA, we will finally be able to move on. Not to long ago, an Obama delegate quit her position and GOT A TICKET for telling some neighbor kids, who were black, that they needed to get out of a tree and that they looked like a bunch of monkeys. Austrian Incest Sick Bastard
I'm sure that you have heard of Josef Fritzl by now. He is the sick, heartless bastard that locked his daughter in the basement and fathered seven kids with her over 24 years. Talk about a sick, manipulative mind. Experts are saying that he suffered from 'power complex' and other psychiatric disorders. Really??? What a shocker. I wonder how much we got paid to come up with that brain storm. All I see is one jerk that at the very least needs locked in a basement for the rest of his miserable days.
Ideas for cops from High School Students
Recently, the mayor of Jacksonville Florida met with a group of high school students to discuss their concerns on issues. The finders were very interesting. First, they feel that as teens, they are being profiled by cops already. They also feel that cops don't care or even try to get to know them. They also admit that the rap music that they listen too does tell them to hate and not trust the cops. I think all departments need to put "community oriented policing" into a new direction instead of the one that it is heading now. I say that the current "Community oriented policing" is a joke and nothing more than lip service. It needs to become more than a resource officer in the schools and a few programs that kids can volunteer for. In one small town that I worked in, we tried a ranger program where kids could come out with the officers and be a part of their day. We got 2 volunteers that quit within weeks. Why? They were made fun of and harassed by their peers. I decided to have officers try something different. They started to stop in at a local playground while on duty and shoot a few hoops with the local kids. What a difference! We started getting teens stopping by the PD looking for their new officer friends that were at the park with them. We got involved in their lives and the word on the street became how "cool" some of the officers were. There are many other ways to make change. This is just a start but it CAN BE DONE!
Backing the Cops
Ok, the verdict is in. The three NYPD cops have been found innocent in a trial that was non jury. The courts have been pretty solid in backing officers in cases such as these and most of the time, I agree. Split second decisions are difficult for any officer, soldier or person, no matter the training. How do you really train someone to kill someone else? When is a cell phone not a gun on a dark night in a hostile situation when it is all on the line and coming fast. I do have problems with 50 rounds entering the man and one officer that emptied his clip and reloaded. On the other hand, I admit that I don't know the whole situation and will not comment one way or the other until I do. It seems that this country is still very polarized. Some against the cops, blacks against the whites and the list goes on and on. How do we stop it? I have my two cents worth in upcoming blogs.

I believe in God. It is my right and it is personal. I also believe in another persons right to not believe. I get sick and tired of people using religion for things that it was never meant to be. I think that this country is falling apart because our basic moral fiber is eroding. That is my belief and yours may be different. I am tired of the race issues in this country. Obama For President?
I think that the democrats are in the process of shooting themselves in the foot. The longer Hillary and Obama battle it out the better it is for McCain. Can Hillary pull this thing off. I wouldn't count her out, I think she would sell Bill to get the democratic nod.
